Treatment includes gentle manipulations of the spine and body.  It is a special system to reduce pain in joints and muscles—the musculoskeletal system.  Treatments are complemented with different physical exercise and nutritional advice.  Dr. Arnold-Chody has also studied “Trigger Point Therapy”.  This therapy is considered safe and often an effective substitute or complement for drug-based pain relief.  Treatment can also include modalities:  warm or cold packs, LLLT = low laser light therapy.

In Mayo Clinic’s September 2008 article Myofascial trigger point therapy related to 90% of the locations of classical acupuncture points.  It also explains that 95% of these corresponding points are used for the same types of pain.  Even though the two treatments arose independently of each other, there is a similar phenomena.  Trigger point therapy was recognized in the early to-mid 1900s.  It involved injections, manual pressure, electrical stimulation and other techniques to relieve muscle and connective tissue (musculoskeletal) pain.  The Mayo Clinic study was published in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in May 10, 2008.  Dr. Arnold-Chody treats trigger points with manual therapy and LLLT (low laser light therapy).  [Link to the Microlight laser poster]
